"Recommended....with reservations." 2010-09-06By

This is the second Samsung flatscreen I've purchased, so that should be a recommendation for the brand. It is...kinda.
Like the previous flatscreen (now relegated to the guest room), this Samsung has brilliant picture clarity. The sound could be better, but for a small room (this is intended for a bedroom), it's fine.
There are some issues, though. I started getting this weird stain on the INSIDE of the screen, sort of like a dark smear that is somewhat translucent, depending upon the picture playing on the screen itself. I thought it was me, but no, my husband started to see it. We fiddled around with various efforts (changing the picture quality from "dynamic" to "movie" or "standard", all of which just made the smear more noticeable.)
Samsung did send a repairman out, who took the TV and left us stranded for a few weeks. The TV came back, finally, and the picture looks fine. But now I'm waiting for the smear to reappear, and I'm glad we took out an extended warranty!
Samsungs have been having issues with the screen and the on/off switch (you can find examples of this all over the Internet.) It doesn't sound like good news, but I'd say if you get a good Samsung, and not a lemon, you're probably in good shape.
I'd recommend this TV for the picture and the looks of the set (very sleek and modern.) But try to get it on sale, because it's an awful lot of money to spend on a TV that lasts a year, and definitely, DEFINITELY get the extended warranty!
(If the smear reappears, I'll update.)
"You need to have HD devices" 2010-08-30By
JryersonI'm very happy with this TV other than the fact that without HD devices the picture is a lil darker than most. I did clear the picture up some after playing with the adjustments for a while. But in all, still very happy and a good purchase. Great job Amazon getting my TV to me quick. Oh and I wanted to thank Fed Ex as well. I wasn't home when they tryed to deliver the TV and instead of taking it back to the warehouse, the driver went well out of his way to get it back to me at the end of his route. Kudos to you!

I purchased this TV today and realized that it was $20 cheaper than I planned on purchasing it for in the first place. In stores, the LN32C450 goes for $444 (the cheapest I have seen it) plus tax! I almost fell out of my chair when I realized that the price went down and ordered it immediately. Thanks to Amazon Prime, it will be here tomorrow and I will update as to the quality :) LOVE YOU AMAZON!!!

"Picture went in 19 months" 2010-08-13By

I bought this TV in October of 2008. About a month ago the TV started turning off and then back on after I turned it on. Suddenly it stopped turning on altogether. After a little research I found this is not uncommon. Samsung knows about the problem but doesn't care since it's just out of warranty. There is no recall. Big bummer. Do I pay $200-$300 for repair or just buy a new one for $400-$500? Stay away or buy an extended warranty.
